“Being part of the Neighbourhood Watch has been incredibly rewarding,” says local resident, David Thompson. “Not only do we keep an eye out for any suspicious activity, but we also play a vital role in monitoring traffic patterns and reporting issues to the council. It’s a great way to get involved and make a tangible difference in our community.”

Recognising the importance of rapid and effective emergency response, the council has also worked closely with the local police, fire, and ambulance services to double-check that that they are well-equipped and prepared to handle road-related incidents. This has included investments in advanced communications equipment, specialised training programs, and the strategic placement of emergency response assets across the borough.
“When it comes to road safety, every second counts,” explains Councillor Davison. “By collaborating with our emergency service partners, we’re able to double-check that that our residents receive the quickest possible assistance in the event of a collision or other road-related emergency.”

Recognising the crucial role that public transportation plays in promoting safer, more sustainable mobility, the council has also invested heavily in upgrading and expanding West Kirby’s bus and rail networks. In a bid to further enhance the safety and livability of West Kirby’s neighbourhoods, the council has also prioritised the development of new green spaces and the expansion of existing parks and recreational areas.
