THE ILLUSIONIST is a must see documentary about the globalisation of beauty and the dark side of advertising.

We all know that “sex sells” and “bodies sell”, however few of us perhaps recognise what sells even more is insecurity.   This documentary is a shocking and thought provoking look at the multi-billion dollar global beauty industries and just how far they go to get us to buy into their culture and buy their products.   This is not just a girls and women’s issue, it is increasingly an issue for boys and men too and the film highlights significant cultural issues that affect all of us, especially young people.

This screening it will be hosted by Emi-Lou Howe (writer, campaigner and speaker), who has set up the BodEquality campaign (www.bodequality.com).

Tickets cost £10 and all profits from this screening will be donated to the UTS Foundation in Hoylake who offer evidence-based exercise, health & well-being sessions for cancer survivors.   For more information go to their website: www.utsfoundation.com (Reg Charity No:1169421)

The film lasts just under an hour and will be followed by a discussion between a panel and the audience. Tea and coffee will be provided.
