St Bridget’s C of E Primary School in West Kirby has been ranked as one of the best state primary schools in the UK.
According to the Sunday Times, the primary school is ranked 176th in the UK, making it the best performing state primary school in the whole of Merseyside.
The Sunday Times Parent Power Schools Guide identifies the 2,000 highest-achieving schools in the UK, ranked by their recent examination results.
Neil le Feuvre, headteacher, said: “As a school we are delighted that our academic achievement has been recognised to be within the top schools of the country.
“This is a result of the collective efforts of the school staff, governors, parents and most importantly the children. Whilst we recognise the importance of academic achievement this is only a mall part of our school.”
The school hit the headlines earlier this year after a series of celebrity visits, including comedian Eddie Izzard and Steve Norman, from Spandau Ballet.
